Erik Eckel is an author and information technology consultant. He lives in Louisville, Ky.

He co-owns and operates the Derby city’s best technology shop. Eckel also manages a media consulting group. But you probably already know that. Here’s what you may not know.

Erik wrote his first newspaper column when he was 12 or 13 years old. He used his first computer at home in 1978. He’s edited a hundred books, authored a few and even published a few short stories. He once took a punch from Muhammed Ali, but fortunately Ali was just joking. Eckel’s dad took him as a kid to see the best baseball team (’76 Reds) ever to take a field.

Erik married his soulmate. She puts up with a garage full of bikes, a house full of computers and an array of crazy ideas that have proven his unique talent to generate.
